For newly promoted managers and team leads

Confident Manager Foundations

Most managers are promoted for technical strength and then left to work out the people part alone. Charan, Drotter and Noel describe this as the first and hardest passage: the shift from producing results yourself to producing them through others. This course works that passage deliberately — goal setting, delegation, feedback and accountability, practised on real work, week by week.

What you'll walk away with

  • Make the shift from doing the work to getting work done through others.
  • Flex between directing and supporting based on where each person sits on a task.
  • Give feedback that changes behaviour instead of damaging trust.
  • Set goals your team can act on, and track them without micromanaging.
  • Run meetings that end in decisions rather than another meeting.
